BAND LABS BEGIN MONDAY SEPTEMBER 16
No need to register. Students can show up anytime during Phase 1 and information will be collected then.
WHAT ARE BAND LABS?
Band Labs is a program that offers free guitar, bass, drums, key and vocal lessons for aspiring musicians on Mondays after school. The goal of Band Labs is not only to teach students who are willing to learn, but also to prepare students who wish to play on weekend worship teams when they get into high school.
THE WHO, WHEN & WHERE
Band Labs is led by the Student Ministry Worship Pastor, BJ McLean. BJ has been on North Coast staff for 15 years and has a heart to train students musically. He is accompanied by other musically established worship leaders and volunteers.
Band Labs runs on a quarterly schedule and happen Mondays after school and will meet in the NineTen High School room at North Coast.
Each quarter has 2 Phases. Phase 1, which normally runs 3-4 weeks, is open to anyone in 7th-12th grade and will cover the basics of guitar, bass, drums, vocals, electric and keys. Phase 2 will be invite only and will last for 6 weeks. This is where we will take the things we have learned in Phase 1 and play in a band setting. If you are selected for Phase 2, you will be strategically placed in a band and assigned to an instrument where you will be given specific things to focus on, feedback on how to play better, and an opportunity to fix what you struggle with. Students selected for Phase 2 must commit to the 6-week time frame.
