Hey parents! This is Travis Sybert, the Junior High Pastor at North Coast Church. I hope your family has had a great start to the new school year! As the summer comes to a close, we are focused on where God is going to takes us this Fall. We will continue having TNL and our Weekend Services during this season, but we will also have a few other exciting events. As always, our hope and prayer is that students don't just have fun through our ministry, but continue to deepen their relationship with the Lord. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus in a healthy and exciting church environment. Take a look at this newsletter to see what’s coming up.

TUESDAYS IN OCTOBER: TOURNAMENT SERIES
Tournament Series is a month-long themed-competition that replaces TNL for the entire month of October. Four teams will be assigned by school and they will fight it out for a FREE trip to 6 Flags: Magic Mountain. Last year, the Packers, Steelers, Patriots and Cowboys all competed to find out who would replace the Chargers in San Diego.
This month is all about inviting your classmates to church, having team spirit, and winning the games! The free bus ride and park ticket depends on two things: your team winning AND having 3 attendance points. We encourage everyone to come dressed up according to their team/color and invite new classmates or friends every single week. Make sure students come to the Pep Rally October 2 to find out this year's theme!
The winning team will go to Magic Mountain Sunday, November 18.
SEPTEMBER 26: SEE YOU AT THE POLE
All around the globe, in every time zone, students will be gathering at their flagpoles, praying for their school, friends, families, churches, and communities. See You At The Pole is a day committed to global unity in Christ and prayer from the younger generation.
This is not a JH78 established event, but a global one. We encourage every one of our students to meet 30 minutes before school starts around the flag pole to pray. Some of our staff may even attend some of the schools to pray with students!

STUDENT LEADERSHIP MEETINGS AND EVENTS
We are so pumped for the 112 students that are a part of our student leadership team! Our next three mandatory meetings are October 5, November 2, and December 7. The October and November meetings will be held at the church from 6-9pm and will cost $5 for dinner. The details for the December meeting will be given out in November, but keep in mind each mid-group’s leadership team will have a Christmas Party at someone’s home!
Being a part of the team also means students will have mandatory service projects and optional fun events. We already have a service project planned for our Salt Team (8th Grade) on October 26 and a fun hike with all of our leadership students on November 21.
Visit the Student Leadership page for more details on events, devotionals, and more.
NOVEMBER 20: MIDGROUP NIGHT OUT
During the week of Thanksgiving, we cancel normal TNL and replace it with
Mid-Group Night Out (MGNO)! If you didn't know, our youth group is split into 4
mid-groups based on grade and gender. Each mid-group will be hanging out doing something different this night off of North Coast Church’s campus. Details for each mid-group will be released the closer we get to the night.
Last year, our mid-groups went to Glowzone, Get Air, Invasion Laser Tag, and Boomers. We can’t wait to see what we do this year. We will post details on our
online calendar soon.
BAND LABS CONTINUE ON IN THE FALL
Band Labs is a program ran by our Worship Director BJ McLean that offers free guitar, bass, drums, key and vocal lessons for aspiring musicians before TNL on Tuesday nights. Our goal is not only to teach students who are willing to learn, but also prepare students who wish to play on weekend worship teams when they get into high school. We have already taken sign-ups, however, if interested in joining, fill out the interest form here and BJ will email you back will all the details.
For those already registered, we will be meeting September 25 (Drums), October 9 (Bass), and October 23 (Guitar) with more dates being released soon. Come to each of these free sessions from 5:30-6:30pm in the Junior High room!
ON THE RADAR: CAMP UNITED (FEBRUARY 1-3)
Camp United is our winter camp experience at Palomar Mountain Christian Conference Center! We meet up with our other Junior High ministries from our Fallbrook, Ramona, and San Marcos/Escondido campuses for a time of fun, fellowship, teaching, and worship.
The camp offers great food, comfortable lodging and many free time activities. These activities include a zip-line, rifle range, archery station, horseback riding, basketball and volleyball courts, a GaGa Ball court and so much more. But more importantly than all the fun we experience at camp, we provide great teaching and worship to better connect students with their Creator.
The cost is $190 and the registration process will be announced soon. Save the date!
