Hey parents! Soon your 8th grader will be considered a high schooler at North Coast Church. This transition time is always filled with excitement, nerves, and even sadness as they are leaving JH78. However, our prayer is your student stays involved in youth ministry at North Coast and absolutely loves our High School ministry called FUEL Nine Ten. This brief letter is meant for the transition process to go as smooth as possible and to answer any questions going forward. It was a privilege serving alongside you and your child during their junior high years and my staff and myself will miss your child tremendously. Let them know they can come back and visit anytime.

Feel free to reach out with any questions you may still have about transition. Austin Payne, our Nine Ten High School Pastor, can also be reached for more specific questions regarding the high school ministry.

MAY 22: FINAL SMALL GROUPS

Tuesday May 22 will be the final small group time for our 8th grade students. Each small group will be doing something special during TNL at church to bond with one another and their leaders. Some groups will stay the same entering high school while others will change. Our hope is that your students finds the right small group for their spiritual growth as they go into high school!

I pray that each and every student leaving our ministry remembers they matter because god thinks they matter.

MAY 29: FINAL TNL & HIGH SCHOOL PARENT ORIENTATION

We hope every 8th grade student can make it out to their final TNL (unless they come back as a leader!). There will be a time of sharing from students and staff, some type of snack or dessert, probably tears, and worship! This night is still from 7-9pm. You may hear this night described as Super TNL. The reason being is because 6th graders will also be here this night checking TNL out for the very first time.

There will also be a Parent Orientation in the High School room for future freshman parents. Come meet Austin and the staff and hear about their mission and philosophy. Keep an eye out for an email from Austin for all the details.

I want to encourage our students to always pursue their own faith. Don’t try to fit into someone else’s. Pursue individuality with their Heavenly Father while being obedient.

JUNE 2-3: FINAL JH78 WEEKEND

This will be the final weekend service our 8th grade students will spend in the Junior High room. We will have our 4 normal service times (Saturday at 5:30pm and Sunday at 9am, 11am, and 6pm). Come to one or come to all four to experience what JH78 has to offer. More importantly, we will be sharing from the Bible and praying God speaks to everyone during this transition time. The following weekend, June 9 & 10, students will attend Fuel Nine Ten Weekends.

I had the privilege to lead the 8th grade guys. They were an incredible class and one piece of advice I’d want to leave with them: Ask lots of questions in your spiritual journey.

JUNE 6: FIRST MIDWEEK FUEL NINE TEN EVENT

Youth group is switching from Tuesdays to Wednesdays for your student! Our high school ministry meets every Wednesday night from 7-9pm at North Coast Church. They do worship every week, biblical teaching, and small groups. There are many fun events they do Wednesday nights such as themed house parties! Be sure to visit Fuel910.com for more information and if you have an Instagram, join their social media community!

Don’t try to be cool in high school. You already are cool!

JUNE 8: SALT CEREMONY

All 8th grade leadership students and their families are invited to our end of the year Salt Celebration. There will be cookies and coffee, awards, videos, and more. It'll be a short gathering from 7-8pm in the Warehouse. It is also a semi-formal event. Please RSVP by email to Alexis (afeindel@northcoastchurch.com) if you have a girl student or Garrett (gringlever@northcoastchurch.com) if you have a guy student. In the email, let them know how many people plan on attending. We hope you all come to say goodbye!

I had a blast leading students through worship this year and since I help lead with Nine Ten, I can’t wait to continue bringing glory to God with these incredible students.
