Hey parents! My name is Travis Sybert and I am the Junior High Pastor at North Coast Church. Soon, all North Coast students will be transitioning into the next grade and we want this process to be as smooth as possible. I have been on staff for 21 years and I've learned keeping parents in the loop of everything is vital for successful ministry. Read on to learn about how transition will work and to see some events coming up here in the summer.

MAY 29: PARENT ORIENTATION & SUPER TNL
If you really want to find out all about who we are as a ministry, join us for our Parent Orientation from 6-7pm in the Warehouse. Here you will find out why we do what we do and meet much of our staff. This orientation is open to all current 6th grade and 7th grade parents. Students can attend with their parents because afterward we will have Super TNL (7-9pm). What this means is all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are welcome to stay for our high-energy, worship-filled youth group! There will be games, biblical teaching, and full band worship. There is no need to register or RSVP- just show up! If you came last year, there is no need to come to the orientation again. If you have a 6th grader (or 7th grader) he or she can now join us every Tuesday night for TNL.
JUNE 5: CHILL & GRILL TNL BARBECUE
Current 6th and 7th graders are welcome to join us for our annual barbecue from
6-9pm! It costs $5 cash for hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and a drink. The night will also consist of indoor and outdoor fun, biblical teaching, and full band worship. Every year, hundreds of students join us for this event to kick-off an incredible summer at JH78. Invite a friend and we hope to see every student there!
TNL next week goes back to the regular start time of 7pm and it's free. As the summer goes on, small groups will become a vital part of TNL. 7th graders entering 8th grade will keep their same small group. 6th graders entering 7th grade will get a small group of 5-8 people led by two adult leaders. Small group time will become important for connection in such a big ministry and for your student's spiritual journey.
JUNE 9-10: TRANSITION WEEKEND
This is the weekend all students officially transition into the next grade at North Coast. Your 6th grader is now a 7th grader and your 7th grader is now an 8th grader and we would love if they didn't just attend our midweek youth group, but joined us for our weekend services! We have services on Saturday night at 5:30pm and Sunday at 9am, 11am, and 6pm. Each service always starts off with a game before we do full-band worship and give a biblical 25-minute message. We encourage all students to bring a Bible because we read it every message. Come on out to the Junior High Room for a great time! We believe it'll be a place all students feel like they belong.
JULY 21-28: 8TH GRADE SUMMER CAMP
JULY 29-AUGUST 4: 7TH GRADE SUMMER CAMP
Every year we load up in 15 passenger vans and head north to the California/Oregon border to white water raft along the Klamath River with Adventure Whitewater. We sleep and worship underneath the stars and make memories that won't be forgotten. The 7th grade camp is $399 for a 7-day trip and the 8th grade camp is $410 for an 8-day trip. There are payment plans and financial aid available.
PARTY ALL SUMMER LONG AT JH78
We have so many other events coming up this summer at JH78. Our Overnighter is June 22-23, our Beach Days are Thursdays in July, and our Allnighter is the last Friday in August. Be sure to continually check our online calendar to stay in the know of what's to come.
We can't wait for what God is going to do in our ministry and we pray your student enjoys the rest of their time in junior high!
