Hey parents! This is Travis Sybert, the Junior High Pastor at North Coast Church. This summer has been a great time for our ministry. We had so many fun and impactful moments from our various events at the church, the beach and summer camp. One highlight came from camp where we saw various students surrender their life to the Lord and many others get baptized. As the summer draws to a close, the fun is just beginning! We will continue having TNL and our Weekend Services entering the Fall, but we will also have many other events. Our hope and prayer, however, is that students don't just have fun through our ministry, but continue to deepen their relationship with the Lord.

AUGUST 14: PARENT TNL
This next Tuesday, parents are invited to join their student at TNL to find out why junior highers love coming to our midweek program. Come see first-hand the fun, the teaching and the worship while getting a chance to meet small group leaders and staff.
All parents that come will be able to reminisce on their junior high years as they will even have the opportunity to play a game that night! This will also be the night we show our 2018 Whitewater recap video.
Please keep in mind this event is called Parent TNL, not Family TNL. Because of space and flow of service, we ask that all children not in junior high stay at home. There is no need to RSVP, just show up from 7-9pm!
AUGUST 11-12: STUDENT LEADERSHIP SIGN-UPS BEGIN
Join us this weekend at any of our four services to hear more about our Student Leadership teams called Salt and Light. Salt is for 8th graders while Light is for 7th graders. They are high-commitment teams that aim to build character, teach leadership skills, and serve their peers and community through various service projects.
There is a lot more to know about these programs so we hope students can make it out either Saturday at 5:30pm or Sunday at 9am, 11am or 6pm.
If students aren't able to make it out this weekend, they can find out more here. All applications will be online this year and can be accessed through this link.
AUGUST 31-SEPTEMBER 1: THE ALLNIGHTER
The Allnighter is a crazy event to end a crazy summer. We stay up ALL NIGHT doing fun things throughout North County San Diego.
This year, we will be swimming at Woodland Park Pool, eating pizza and playing a game at church, bowling at Bowlero, having fun on the ice at the Iceplex, and stopping by Chick-Fil-A for some breakfast.
We will be taking over 200 students and 5 school busses as we party all night long. The cost of this event is $50. To register, click here. Sign-ups will not be taken at the door. #JH78upallnight
SEPTEMBER 7: STUDENT LEADERSHIP KICK-OFF
For students that apply and are accepted into our student leadership program, our first mandatory meeting will be Friday, September 7 from 6-9pm at church. All of our leadership students will meet for dinner, games, teaching, worship, breakout sessions and more. The cost will be $5 to cover food. At the meeting, students will also get a calendar with dates of future leadership meetings, service projects and fun exclusive events just for being a part of the program!
One of these exclusive optional events will be the following day, Saturday, September 8. We will be having a pool party just for our leadership team. Details will be sent out when students are accepted into the program. We are trying not to make a big deal about the pool party as we announce the program, however, because we don't want students just signing up so they can come to the pool party.
TUESDAYS IN OCTOBER: TOURNAMENT SERIES
Tournament Series is a month-long themed-competition that replaces TNL for the entire month of October. Four teams will be assigned by school and they will fight it out for a FREE trip to 6 Flags: Magic Mountain. Last year, the Packers, Steelers, Patriots and Cowboys all competed to find out who would replace the Chargers in San Diego.
This month is all about inviting your classmates to church, having team spirit, and winning the games! The free bus ride and park ticket depends on two things: your team winning AND having 3 attendance points. We encourage everyone to come dressed up according to their team/color and invite new classmates or friends every single week. Make sure students come to the Pep Rally October 2 to find out this year's theme!
BAND LABS BEGIN SOON
Band Labs is a program ran by our Worship Director BJ McLean that offers free guitar, bass, drums, key and vocal lessons for aspiring musicians before TNL on Tuesday nights. Our goal is not only to teach students who are willing to learn, but also prepare students who wish to play on weekend worship teams when they get into high school.
If your son or daughter already knows how to play an instrument, Band Labs will give them experience playing with a team.
