WHAT IS SALT AND LIGHT?
JH78 offers two student leadership teams: Salt (8th Grade) and Light (7th Grade). These teams generally meet on the second Friday of the month at church or in host homes from September-May. They are high-commitment teams that aim to help students read their Bible, ask questions, build their character, learn leadership skills, and serve their peers and community through various service projects. Students involved spend weekly time in devotion to the Lord through reading the Bible, prayer, journaling, serving the church and more.
Students that are accepted into the program will be asked to live above reproach and be examples of servant leadership. Many students apply knowing the program will strengthen their faith, cultivate strong Godly friendships, and provide service opportunities and a retreat at the end of the year. It will be a lot of work, but we believe the program will change lives!
