Hey everyone!

You may be in school mode, but we still have a fun Fall at JH78. Below are some major events to mark on your calendars happening over the next few months. Don’t forget we meet every single Tuesday night from 7-9pm for TNL and every single weekend for church services:

  1. Salt + Light is up and running! We have almost 90 kids involved in leadership at JH78. If your kid is one of them, make sure you check our Salt + Light tab on our website or JH78 app for resources. You will find dates for our meetings, service projects, and fun events! You will also find devotionals that can be printed out if your kid ever misses a meeting. Our Salt + Light Kickoff is Friday, September 6 from 6-9pm. We can’t wait for this year of student leadership!

  2. Tournament Series is a month-long themed-competition that replaces TNL for the entire month of October. Four teams will be assigned by school and they will fight it out for a FREE trip to 6 Flags: Magic Mountain. This year, the self-proclaimed “Mistress of all Evil” Maleficent is the newest bachelorette. She has narrowed her search down to 4 villains: Darth Vader, Voldemort, Joker, and Thanos. This villanous season of the Bachelorette won’t be decided by Maleficent, however, but will be decided by who wins Tournament Series!! This month is all about inviting your classmates to church, having team spirit, and winning the games! Your free bus ride and park ticket depends on two things: your team winning AND having 3 attendance points. We encourage everyone to come dressed up according to their team/color and invite new classmates or friends every single week. More info can be found here.

  3. The 6 Flags Magic Mountain trip for whoever wins Tournament Series and qualifies to attend will be Sunday, November 17. Stay tuned for all the details.

  4. Student Ministries Worship Training is back on Mondays starting September 16! It’s a program designed for junior high and high school students to learn, develop, grow and implement skills in musical worship. This program is for anyone in grades 7-12. For some, this will be the first exposure to instruments like guitar, bass or keyboards. Others may come in with outside experience looking for a place to get involved. All skills are welcome! The best part is that it is completely FREE! Our training program takes place in four quarters throughout the year - fall, winter, spring and summer. Read more about the program here, including dates and times.

  5. Happy Thanksgiving! We will not be meeting for TNL on Tuesday, November 26. Enjoy your time with family!

  6. Camp United (Winter Camp) is happening January 31-February 2. We will meet up with other North Coast junior high ministries at Palomar Mountain for an incredible winter camp experience. Click here for more details and to find out how to register!
